Here we are on the eve of the Full Moon & lunar eclipse at 24 degrees of Capricorn. It happens on the 16th & 17th July depending on where you live. In Australia it will be early Wed morning just after 7.30am.

This is the second eclipse for the month, previously being a Solar Eclipse on the New Moon in Cancer. Here we see the Sun in Cancer opposite the Moon in Capricorn. The Moon is also conjunct or very close to Saturn, the Sth Node and Pluto. This is one powerhouse of energy demanding we let go! The Sun has the Nth Node by its side and Venus which is a lovely configuration standing across the sky from the army of planets that are rather heavy and karmic in their qualities. This is really the culmination and pinnacle of what has been building for many months. It is very karmic with Saturn and the nodes in the mix, not to mention Pluto. It can bring up a lot of buried and wounded feelings, stirring and muddying the waters. At times tears, fears and phobias may arise. The positive here is that they are coming up to be seen and then released & healed – a kind of healing crisis.

The Sth Node of the Moon in traditional or ancient astrology was known as the ‘Tail of the Dragon.’ There is a Scorpionic energy to it. So some of the old structures of way of doing things we’ve relied on in our lives need to go. This is definitely a time of breaking down the old and finding new ways of doing things. It can make us feel quite emotional as we hang on to what we know and yet feel as if something is dying. It’s really important to take time out to ground yourself. Walk in nature, swim in the ocean, take a bath, long shower or spa.

Also we look towards the opposite part of the sky to try and balance the energies. We have opposing this full moon in Capricorn, the Sun in Cancer and being massaged gently by lovely Venus, so reach out and lean towards this gentle and nurturing place to help soothe some of the emotional aches and pains we are experiencing during this time of purging. Also another beautiful and healing placement is that the North Node in Cancer is trining (harmonious) the visionary and healing planet Neptune at 18 degrees of Pisces. This is a really lovely energy that is really like the signpost and pathway for the emerging energies to find resolution and insights. So it’s never meant to be all doom and gloom. It’s all a wonderful cosmic pattern that if handled consciously, can help us evolve into a better version of ourselves.

We may feel a bit off kilter and especially with so many retrograde planets happening at the moment. A time to really reflect and pay attention and learn from the shift in frequencies. So doing the work such as consciously clearing out what no longer serves and participate in the inevitable transitions and endings going on around us. This will help us find our way during the somewhat chaotic energies of the eclipses. Be mindful that the Sth Node represents the past and a SN eclipse reminds you of your inner world and what is deeply buried, that you really have perhaps always yearned for yourself but have put on hold in favour of many material needs and responsibilities.  Develop your authentic self. It will trigger some endings but if handled mindfully will help you to deal effectively with the baggage from your past so you can move forward.

Either way it does signal change, inevitable change. It is best to try and ‘go with the flow’ as they say and not continue to swim against the cosmic tide. Take care, rest and rejuvenate and best wishes for a healthy and positive outcome from these amazing celestial energies taking place at this point in time.
