Welcome to this astro update, and hopefully you’re feeling the new energy with the Sun having now moved into the pioneering and energetic fire sign of Aries. We’ve had a long, watery and dreamy time in Pisces and with Mercury turning direct now, so this will only enhance this feeling of the gears and cogs turning again. Although we still have lovely Venus only 2 degrees away from Neptune, so both in Pisces, this will lend us some inspiration and vision for which to move forward with our projects that have been under construction for some time. Venus is exalted in Pisces as well & remains there until April 20th. She is very comfortable and loving in this sign.

Currently the moon is slowly waxing after just coming out of the New Moon phase (in Aries) and that was the opportunity to set our intentions and really set the wheels in motion for what we want to see unfold over the next month and beyond. This was extra powerful also as it really represents the beginning of the astrological year, Aries being the first sign of the zodiac.

Mercury, planet of communication will still be in Pisces and very close (conjunct) to Neptune until Arpil 17 so we still have some foggy moments or if used more constructively, intuitively t0 say the very least. Our thinking processes are more visual, intuitive and imaginative under this watery influence. While Venus is in Pisces, borders and boundaries blur so be mindful of allowing yourselves to be victimised or deluded. Mars is in chatty and busy Gemini until May 15th and is considerably less determined and focused. We can scatter our energies around too much under Gemini’s influence, making us less effective.

A big aspect is Saturn and Pluto conjunct right now, along with the Moon’s South Node sitting right between them. This has a truly karmic quality to it and depending on where this is happening in your own chart, it will be grinding away at whatever is no longer working for you. Both planets and the Moon’s Sth Node are in ambitious and serious Capricorn, so be observant of any power struggles and / or fears as this can be a part of this combination of energies. Pluto will trigger some fears, especially around whatever losses we may be experiencing, and Saturn demands the structure holds firm on this deal beyond the change, so lean into it if you can, and trust in this process. This kind of transition and loss, provoking the change that is needed, should be a powerful motivator. Mercury in Pisces makes a positive angle to Saturn in Capricorn so this can lessen some of the tension at least. These two planets don’t move too quickly either so this transit will be around for most of this year. Also they will be going retrograde this month along with Jupiter as well on April 10th until mid August. Saturn goes retrograde on April 30th to September 18th. Pluto goes retrograde on April 24th to October 3rd.

Jupiter’s retrograde passage back into Scorpio over 123 days gives us time to take a deeper look at our belief systems, visions and ways of relating to life.

Saturn Retrograde draws our attention to our long term goals, ambitions and responsibilities, authority figures, how we face obstacles and tests. It’s time to renew commitments and think about how to make our life and work more satisfying.

Pluto retrograde April 24th to October 3rd and will always be how we relate to the changes we are going through. Always for around 5-6 months, we experience and are forced to deal with change – small and big as well as wholly life changing transformations.

So beyond all of this astro activity remember to swim with the current, embrace the fresh inspiring energies of Aries, and don’t get caught up in fear as we feel the ground beneath us rumble with inevitable change, promising to clear out the cobwebs and help us to feel renewed and inspired.
